Nathaniel Schilpp

I went to The Ohio State University with the intent to study engineering; I decided it wasn't for me. I've always had the desire to build and manage restaurants from the ground up, designing the building, menu, and everything. Architectural design is interesting, but more-so as a hobby for me. I looked into Fisher College of Business and became fascinated by the field of Supply Chain and Logistics. What could be better for my long-term goals? As I see it, ALL businesses that create product, service customers, or otherwise exist, NEED a supply chain. Because without a supply chain, where do you get the product you are selling? How do you get it to your customers? As I strive towards entrepreneurship, what better place to start than the core of a business?

 

Through my experiences as a Supply Chain Manager in various industries and the curriculum of my degree and CPIM Certification, I have developed a strong skillset that enables me to adapt to business needs. I can visualize the entire end-to-end supply chain of a company and identify bottlenecks and ways in which they can become more efficient. The rapid speed that I can learn provides me with agility when taking on new challenges and I often view myself as a disruptor on project teams because I regularly challenge the status quo. Milliseconds add up, so even the smallest of efficiencies can go a long way towards overall process improvement.

 
Creativity has always been one of my greatest assets and applying that to my career and to my life in general has opened opportunities that I never knew were possible. Continuous growth is my philosophy and I apply that ideology to my writing and to my professional development. Never stop growing!
